Vivid Sydney wanted to create a game-changing digital experience that would innovate the on-the-ground experience at this year’s festival. Research showed that there isn't a problem with the number of images shared of the event. The problem is that many of the images look the same and as a result, it's difficult for people to get their photo to stand out on social media.
We created VividSnap, a new mobile app that lets you add incredible light art to any photo you take. Working alongside Typographer Georgia Hill and Light Artist Alex Kess, we created a bespoke light font that allows anyone to add their name in lights to their photos. We also created a number of unique phrases and icons for people to create personalised, social art within their photos. Users can rotate and skew the assets within their images to make them feel as if they are really there in the shot.
Results:
+ 27,000 unique pieces of artwork created over the two-week long festival.
+ Generated 6 million plus impressions for the brand.
